This was my favorite accidental find!! The staff and cats are super friendly and welcoming. The cafe is clean and smells fresh inside and the cats are healthy. They have a full menu for guests and the kitties. If you like cat cafes definitely drop in.

It’s a very cute place and sooo many cute cattos and all of them sooo friendly. Food and coffee that I ordered also great! They have a couple veg options as well. Service was also great. The gift shop- it’s the cutestttt! They have so many cute gifts (for hoomans also). Took some gifts back for my cats and they loveddd the toy. Ambience and atmosphere is very calm and silent just how the cats like. They have a very minimal redeemable cover charge- really important to avoid random people who only want to bother cats for fun and leave. One problem though- they allow all their guests to feed unlimited amount of treats/ lickables to their cats. Even though cats love those treats, these treats are really unhealthy for cats if given in such huge quantities.

Five clean little kittens… They all seemed a bit sleepy and were still dozing off. Their personalities were wonderful, and the environment was pleasant as well. The sunset light streaming into the room was especially beautiful.

Absolutely loved this place! The cats were so friendly, well taken care of, and made the whole experience so relaxing and fun. The cafe itself was super clean, cozy, and beautifully designed. The drinks and snacks were also really good. Perfect spot to unwind, take cute photos, and spend time with adorable cats. Highly recommend visiting if you’re in the area!

Lovely cat cafe with a bright and airy space. Great coffee, tasty noodles (the portion was quite big for me), and lots of adorable cats. The cats are calm and don’t bother guests while they eat, so even people who are not used to cats can still feel comfortable. It would be even nicer to see more local cats here too. A very relaxing place to spend some time.

Absolutely lovely and welcoming place. I wish I could stay here forever, just relaxing and playing with the cats. You can have snacks or an actual meal or just enjoy drinks. While interacting with the little balls of fluffy fur. I personally enjoyed a light meal of their fish ball soup, absolutely delicious. Can definitely recommend if you’re looking for light and savory food. You can also enjoy some books to read, if you’re more fluent in indonesian and Japanese. There were few in English as well so you can stay longer too if you get absorbed in the books. The cats are very well looked after and so soft you just want to cuddle them. They’re also very curious little things and somewhat cheeky. I will definitely come back here if I’ll visit Bali again.

Absolutely love this place 🐾✨ It’s such a cozy and comforting spot to work, and the sweet little furry friends make everything feel lighter and happier. If you’re bored of the usual cafés, this is the perfect escape. The cats are calm and adorable, the Wi-Fi is fast, and the atmosphere is quiet, cozy, and super relaxing. Honestly, it just makes your whole day better 💚💚💚 This place is definitely worth a visit when you are in Bali! Lifted my mood🥰🥰

Quaint little café on the main Ubud street with rustic interiors and a nice overlook of the road, though it can get a bit noisy. Food is average overall. Staff are friendly and courteous with prompt service. • Brunch platter: Good assortment of items. Carrots and cucumber were served raw, scrambled eggs were decent, and the sourdough was interesting. The potato hash was soggy, fried mozzarella was hard inside, and the dips (salsa and sour cream) were average. • Creamy coco chickpea: Slightly salty, and the chickpeas felt a bit undercooked. • Banana cake: Delicious. • Coffee: Average. • Forest smoothie: Good and refreshing.

Our first meal in Ubud and what a great start! Lazy Cat Café had been on my list for a while and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The place is beautiful with such a relaxed vibe, the staff is incredibly kind and attentive, and the food was delicious. Great portions, fair prices, and an overall experience that made us want to stay longer. If you’re visiting Ubud, don’t miss this place. Highly recommended!

A hidden gem! It serves great vegetarian food, which I just found out this is a vegetarian cafe after I came in. Variety choice of food from western to Balinese cuisine. The Tempe poke bowl, not ,ich additional sauce added and it is flavourful with all the vegetables and Tempe in it. Clean and healthy choice of food. Brunch platter, the sauces come with it is so flavourful to eat with the bread and salad. Good portion of protein, fiber and carbs! Chick and sweet burger, my son can’t even tell if he is eating a vegan burger. Taste great. All the food were presented beautifully and the different colour of the vege just make my day. It feels so light and refreshing after few meals of bebek and pork rib in Bali. Very good ambience, there’s different kind of seating like balcony view, sofa type seating. Highly recommended cafe to try out especially for vegetarians.

Lazy Cats Cafe is an ideal sanctuary for those looking to escape the bustle of Ubud. Whether you want to enjoy good company or read a book, this is a must visit. Tucked away upstairs, the space is full of character, offering a cozy and quirky rustic vibe that feels immediately inviting. While there is a bit of sound pollution from the busy street below, the atmosphere remains charming. The menu focuses on fresh and healthy options, all of which are incredibly tasty and offered at great prices. A standout feature is their commitment to local impact; it’s wonderful to know that purchasing a green smoothie means proceeds go directly toward supporting the greater community. It is a thoughtful, vibrant spot that feeds both the soul and the neighborhood.

Cat Cafe & Boarding Sanur is very clean and well maintained. The cats are clearly loved and cared for. You can tell how much the owner cares through the quality of the cat trees, scratching posts, beds and the whole setup. We were especially touched that she also takes in disabled cats, which is such a beautiful act of compassion. Refreshments are included in the price and the whole experience is absolutely worth it. Highly recommended 😸 Keep doing what you’re doing legend! Love from Australia!

We visit the cat cafe every time we come to Bali. My teenage kids could stay here all day if I let them! The new location is great. There’s many cats to pay and play with. There’s chairs and tables to sit down and you get a drink with your entrance fee. The staff are lovely, very informative and friendly. The cats are very well looked after and cared for. I highly suggest a visit to the cat cafe!

A wonderful place where the cats are clearly very well cared for. The owner and staff are incredibly kind, warm, and attentive. You can tell the cats are living a comfortable life, and there are thoughtful rules in place to ensure they aren’t disturbed or stressed by visitors. They also offer their own merchandise, and all proceeds go toward caring for the cats—so of course we couldn’t resist buying quite a few items.

The owner is very caring and knowledgeable about the cats she looks after. The cats are adorable, friendly and mostly rescued strays. The rules are clearly explained before entering and are completely reasonable. I noticed some reviews from parent who are upset that children aren’t allowed entry. Not every space is suitable for kids, and that’s perfectly fair as some of these cats may be traumitised and need a calm environment. The owner’s rules make sense and are there for a reason. Overall, it’s a great spot. I’m really glad we visited! Had a lovely experience these cuties.

Had been here yesterday for the first time. As foreigner you have to pay 50k entry fee, which is fine for me. You can buy food for the cats, 10k for a small box of snacks. There are a lot of beautiful cats and they are really handsome and want to have all the snacks 😅 at the end we bought like 10 pcs of snacks for the cats. The couches are super comfortable and also all the stuff member are super nice and helpful. We enjoyed hot cappuccino and flat white, they also offer some food, which we did not try. At the end we stayed here like 2-3 hours and really enjoyed the time with the cats We will come back 🙂

Definitely my heaven on earth 🥹 Cute, pretty, handsome and friendly cats! ❤❤❤❤ I’m in love! 😍 I hope the staff clean the place more thoroughly. The smell is quite strong, and there is a lot of cat fur stuck in the vacuum filter. The lint rollers for removing cat hair from clothing are no longer usable. The slippers provided for guests also appear to be somewhat damaged (the rubber slippers) and a bit dirty. If you come here, I recommend wearing socks so you don’t have direct contact with the provided slippers. Entry fee is so affordable 👍 Food and drinks was good also ☺

Lovely place. Based on the poster I thought it was a one day fancy cat exhibit.. instead it’s a two story place with cats roaming within.. that’s open every day! Clean place, happy cats & friendly staff! Cats were mega curious (one chose my bag to explore 😆..I wish I brought in some ping pong balls for ‘em! 🏓 We will be back 😀👍🏻💛✨

I’ve been to cat cafes in many countries and places, but this one is the best compared to the others. Other cat cafes have a lot of rules, but this one doesn’t, which makes the cats even more friendly and lively. In some Japanese cat cafes, the cats seem to be working and tired, but here they are lively. There is no time limit, so you can even stay while working remotely. You can enter three times for one payment, so I became a repeat customer during my stay.

Gorgeous little cat sanctuary, the cats are so friendly and clean and safe and honestly I didn’t want to leave EDIT: I’d like to add more detail, the cats are clearly comfortable as they did not seem timid or fearful, and they are interacting with each other very well. The cats fur are all very soft which is a good thing There are plenty of high spots for the cats to perch, and idk what some of the reviews are talking about because it was very cool in here + the tiled floors make it easy for cats to cool down if they feel too hot. And honestly to some of the bad reviews, would you rather the cats be on the street? This place charges Rp 100,000 entry and you can come back 2 more times with the receipt (and a review) that’s the money they make. Also the 2 times I’ve been here I have not seen or heard one cat sneeze. They also do not allow shoes inside which helps keep the place clean SOME SUGGESTIONS FOR THE STAFF: Some things I did notice are one or more cats having poo on their bum, to create a clean environment it is important to monitor the cats hygiene. Also one of the cats sleeping in the litter box next to poo… that is behaviour that needs to be discouraged And I also saw them have dry food + on your Instagram you state that the cats are fed dry food, cats need wet food to help with hydration and nutrients.

This is the place to be at for any cat lovers in Bali! They have 2 floors with cats evenly occupying both spaces, there’s a really cozy area on the 2nd floor. Witnessed feeding time at 6pm & that was an amazing experience! Loved seeing this safe space for the cats & spending time with them!

My scaredy shy black cat used to stay here as a pet hotel guest when we are leaving the island. We got no complaints from him about the hotel service. Food time is regular and littler is also regularly cleaned. He skips play time so no problem there. Here’s a picture of one of the friendly cat residence there.

April in Bali

A hidden gem and small cat cafe in Bali. They had more than 90+ rescued cats there. The atmosphere is very quite, small, yet cozy. A bit hot in the afternoon and evening. You can also buy some snacks like fries and drink (soda, juice, coconut, etc. The cats are cute and friendly. You can park your car outside the gang (since it’s a veey small gang to reach this cafe). But motorbike can park in front of the cafe. You can bring your own cat food if you want.

I’m so happy I visited this place! I met sooo many adorable cats and they all looked healthy and well cared for. Huge thanks to the amazing staff who take such great care of these kitties with so much love and dedication. The place is located inside a small alley next to Banjar Kulibul Kangin, but it’s quite easy to find if you just follow the signs to Odd Cat. The parking area is quite narrow though, so it’s probably only enough for a few motorbikes. The entrance is actually free, but you can grab some drinks or snacks while playing with the cats. You can also buy cat food to feed them, and there’s an option to leave a tip or donation if you’d like to support the place. Overall, it’s such a calm and lovely spot for cat lovers. Definitely worth a visit if you enjoy spending time with cute cats! 😺🐾

A must visit if you’re a cat lover and staying in Seminyak or Canggu. It’s probably the only cat rescue with a cafe. It’s not a fancy, commercialised cafe but you get to interact with the 80 cats in the premise. A heaven for cat lovers and haven for the cats. There is a tripod cat (3-legged) and one which is half blind. Pls support by buying their merchandise or make a donation.

This lovely cafe/ shelter is run by a very dedicated and kind woman, who really has the best intentions for all the kitty’s. It’s started once with only a handful, and over time it became over more than 80+ cats!! I don’t think people realise how much time, money, effort and passion it requires to maintain and support to many cats in here. I see how hard people work here, and they can’t help all the cats in the world. Not because they don’t care, but because they lack resources and money for that. So if you really want to help: donate, adopt en foster.

Great place for cat lovers. The cats were all gorgeous and friendly. The house is beautiful. I really like the rooftop. The owner must be such a kind and wonderful person to create such a beautiful home for cats of all shapes and sizes. But I do have one complain – the smell coming from the cat litter was so overpowering especially in the closed rooms on the ground floor and second floor. I tried to enter but was dizzy and couldn’t breathe. We went to the rooftop which was thankfully open air. I really love this place and I am not saying this to create any problem, it’s my genuine feedback and hopefully it can be addressed so that more people will come and stay longer. I did ask the staff who was there and she said that they clean the litter box every day (?) – but I have 4 cats too at home, and to avoid such overpowering smells I clean out their litter at least 3 times a day. I hope you’ll take my feedback with positivity because I really love this place and would like to come back. Thank you.

We had a wonderful experience at this cat café! The cats are incredibly friendly, affectionate, and clearly very well cared for. All of them are clean, well-groomed, and look healthy and happy. The café itself is spotless and smells fresh. There is absolutely no unpleasant odor, which shows how much attention is given to cleanliness and hygiene. Everywhere is neat, organized, and comfortable. The staff are very kind, welcoming, and obviously love the cats. It is clear that the animals receive excellent care and attention. The cats are playful, relaxed, and enjoy interacting with visitors. The atmosphere is cozy and enjoyable, and the food and drinks are great as well. We truly enjoyed our visit and would highly recommend this place to anyone who loves cats. Thank you for creating such a clean, caring, and wonderful environment for both the cats and the guests!

A wonderful place to shower some love on the kitties while supporting their care! 🐈💛 If you’re missing your own fur babies back home like I am right now, this is the Purr-fect place to get your surrogate kitty fix, soak up some purr therapy, and share a little love with these sweet cats.

Super cute and lovely cats. Was planning to visit the rice terrace, but stopped by here because they look too cute. No time to go to the rice terrace in the end but no regrets 😀

The cats are super friendly and like forever hungry. But they allow you to pet them and enjoy the experience with my kids.

Such a cute experience! I read some reviews where people were questioning the entrance fee – it’s only 45k and you can see that the money goes to the care of the cats, who look super healthy and happy 🙂 such a fun place to do some work (with some good distractions)

I always trusted my cat with them whenever I travel. Love their service. Top-notch! They also provided grooming, helped with vaccination and kept me updated about my cat’s condition. My cat was very happy there as she found some friends. Kak Vidy and the staff were also friendly and taking care of my cat very well. So I wouldn’t be worried. My cat stayed there for almost 3 months. I’d definitely give 5 stars 😍

I left my cat, Charlie at Canggu Cat Center for 2 months — it was my first time boarding her as a new cat mom, and it was truly the best experience. They made my cat feel like part of their family. It was so reassuring to see that the owners genuinely love cats, which gave me peace of mind knowing she was in such good hands. She made friends and was sweet to everyone there. I highly recommend Canggu Cat Center, and without a doubt, I’ll leave her with them again whenever I’m away.

Unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend this service. When I dropped off my cat there the place smelled really bad, wasn’t clean, the other cats had mites ( I had a very bad feeling about it). Also I didn’t get any updates on the wellbeing of my cat, they wanted to charge me extra for that. I had a very bad feeling so decided to take my cat out there after a week even tho they wouldn’t give me a refund for the rest of the month. My cat ended up having a big wound on his tail if I didn’t get him out of there probably would’ve turned into an infection. Second time my cat gets out of there injured I wouldn’t recommend this place, they charge a lot for not taking good care of cats.

I always book home service grooming for my little baby here! Soooo happy each time, everyone is so patient and gentle to my cat. Price is def more than fair. They are also always on time which is ofc appreciated. I got useful tips from them too since it is my first baby ♥️ Look how Mango is enjoying herself being taken care by 2 cute boys! 😂

I’m really happy with experience with Canggu Cat Center. You can tell they really care about their furry guests. I boarded my 9 year old cat there, and they were super communicative the whole time. They sent me photos and updates everyday. Would highly recommend them to anyone that needs to board their cat 😊

Frequently asked questions about cat cafes in Bali

What are Bali’s cat cafes like?

Bali’s cat cafes offer a unique experience, typically combining a cafe environment with the opportunity to interact with resident cats. Many cafes have a relaxed atmosphere with comfortable seating, a menu offering drinks and snacks, and designated areas where visitors can play with and cuddle the cats. The cats themselves are usually rescue animals, contributing to a positive social impact.

    Are the cats well-cared for?

Many of the established cat cafes prioritize the welfare of the cats. This typically includes providing regular veterinary care, nutritious food and water, comfortable housing, and plenty of attention and playtime. It's important to research the specific cafe’s practices to ensure they align with your values regarding animal care. Look for cafes that are open about their caring procedures.

What is the cost to visit a cat cafe?

Entry fees to cat cafes in Bali vary, but generally range from approximately IDR 150,000 to IDR 300,000 per person. This usually includes access to the cafe for a specified period, and sometimes a drink or snack. Some cafes offer package deals or have different pricing for longer visits. It’s wise to check the cafe's website or social media for the most up-to-date pricing information.

Do I need to book a reservation?

Yes, reservations are highly recommended, especially during peak season or weekends. Popular cat cafes can quickly reach capacity, and reservations guarantee you a spot. Most cafes allow you to book online through their booking platform or via direct messaging. Booking in advance also ensures you are aware of any operational restrictions.

Are there rules I need to follow while visiting?

Most cat cafes have specific rules in place to protect both the visitors and the cats. These typically include no climbing on the cats, no loud noises, no feeding the cats human food, and adhering to designated interaction areas. It’s important to follow these guidelines to maintain a safe and comfortable environment for everyone.

Are the cats friendly and socialized?

The level of friendliness and socialization varies among the cats, as they are all individuals with their own personalities. However, most cafes have spent time socializing their cats and encouraging them to interact with visitors. It's worth noting that some cats may be shy initially, requiring patience and gentle interaction. Observe the cats’ behaviour to understand their comfort level.

What kind of support do the cafes offer to the cats?

Many cat cafes are directly involved in the rescue and rehabilitation of stray cats in Bali. They may collaborate with local animal shelters to provide foster care, medical attention, and adoption services. Some cafes actively promote cat adoption, and contribute to community cat programs.

Are there any specific health considerations?

Due to the close contact with cats, it’s essential to be mindful of potential health risks. Cats can carry parasites and bacteria. Ensure you have received all recommended vaccinations, practice good hygiene (handwashing), and avoid contact if you have a weakened immune system. Consult your doctor if you have any concerns regarding your health and safety.

What is the typical duration of a visit?

The average visit to a cat cafe typically lasts between 1.5 to 3 hours. This allows ample time to relax, enjoy a drink, interact with the cats, and appreciate the cafe's atmosphere. Some cafes offer extended hours for a higher fee, or shorter visits for a reduced rate. Check with the specific cafe for their recommended visit duration.

Are there cafes with specific themes or activities?

Some cat cafes offer unique experiences beyond just interacting with cats. This could include themed events (e.g., yoga with cats, painting workshops), specialty menu items, or collaborations with local artisans. Research the cafe's upcoming events to see if anything aligns with your interests.
