I had such a great experience at this studio! Chandra and Ari are the kindest hosts! The process of making our jewelry was so easy, fun and smooth and they helped us out along the way. We chose our ring we wanted to recreate, and Chandra walked us through the entire process. Doing this class was so special and memorable, I am grateful to have created such a unique story in my jewelry collection. Thank you Chandra and Ari! You are the best!

Ubud Art Lessons – Silver ring making workshop! It was genuinely SO much fun, there are so many options to choose from, the staff are incredibly warm, welcoming and helpful every step of the way! You are involved in the whole process from the heating and tempering of the metal, the rolling and the engraving. It is totally up to you! You get a demo piece to practice your design on before going ahead and doing the real thing! There are a variety of designs that you can choose from or if you have your own design in mind, just show the team and they will do everything to support you. Special shout out to Bima who really supported us throughout the entire process and really helped us on the engraving! Ari and the whole team are so lovely! Once complete, the rings are polished and look incredible. Price point is great too and material is real 925 Silver. Would really recommend this activity especially at Ubud Art Lessons for anyone visiting Ubud. What a lovely souvenir to take home – thanks guys ☺️

Absolutely amazing place ! Starting from the very easy booking experience thanks to Ari and being able to tailor the experience to our wishes. She then taught us everything about the offerings and Balinese culture. We were able to ask any and all questions we had in a very open and honest conversation thanks to he. We then proceeded the fun process of creating our own ring. We ended up mostly with an idea, hope and dreams, which Bima then turned into actual art with his finishing touches. Ari and Bima are such lovely people, who have made this experience a life long memory we are able to cherish. Genuinely cannot put into words how grateful we are for these two angles and being able to learn and experience it all !!!!!

We visited Ubud Art Lessons to celebrate our birthday and our honeymoon by making our own jewelry, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. From the very first moment, the service was spectacular. The activity is incredibly fun, but at the same time, it brings a sense of peace; it turned out to be super relaxing and therapeutic. The staff is unbeatable: attentive, patient, and with wonderful energy, even more Birma. Without a doubt, this has been one of the most special moments of our trip. We recommend it 100% and will definitely come back on our next visit to Bali. Thank you for creating such a beautiful memory for us!

Thank you team for the memorable experience to learn and enjoy our time with you.

Went there to have a therapeutic time and make use of my hands to make something, and its a great experience! Audrey is patient and helpful and she gave us the best experience in pottery making! If you visit bali (canggu), I highly recommend to book your pottery activity here and enjoy the therapeutic moment!! Thank you Audrey for the best experience ! 😆

My wife and I booked a pottery class and had the best day. The booking on line was simple, we paid cash at the end of the class. The instructor was friendly and informative. 2 hours goes fast and you won’t have time to create anything too elaborate, but for a beginners class, there’s enough time to learn the basics and create something unique. We couldn’t return later to paint and finish our pieces however they offered to do this for us and send our pieces to us via Gojek before we left. On cue they contacted us 2 days before our departure with photos of our finished work and arranged delivery to our hotel. We could not fault the experience and the team. We will definitely return next time we’re in Bali.

The Jenggala flagship store is absolutely stunning! Inside, you’ll find a massive showroom filled with wonderful ceramics, pottery, dishes, vases, and unique ornaments-all designed by artists. They also showcase beautiful glassware and fabrics. What makes this place truly special is that everything is sourced and made locally, with the entire production happening under one roof. You can even catch a glimpse into the factory! If you’re feeling creative, you can join an art class and paint your own ceramics. To top it all off, there is a fantastic on-site restaurant serving fresh, delicious, and wholesome food. Highly recommended!

I’ve never seen so many beautiful ceramic pieces in one place! Everything was absolutely stunning, and we didn’t know where to look first. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful. I accidentally left my handbag there, and they safely kept it for several days with everything still inside. I’m so grateful for their honesty and kindness. Highly recommend visiting this place! ❤️

My first visit after many times received its ceramic as a gift and buying it online. What a great thing to see the different varieties of table ware that my family use daily in our home. Jenggala’s ceramic products are one of the OG of Bali and they have a great durability. I ended up didn’t buying anything as I’m still not sure with my luggage, yet the staffs are very nice and patiently explained some details about their most recent collection. After the window shopping, I tried their cafe. The food and coffee is delicious, I also got to experience their tableware directly. If you bring kids, they have a great package of ceramic painting and food & drinks from the cafe. An interesting idea as the parents are busy with shopping 😄

I’ve bought ceramics from here for a looong time, and it never fails. The colors are beautiful and so are the designs. I always want to come here when I am in Bali, and almost every piece in my house is from Jenggala. Not to add on the fact that the flagship store is stunning too!

I visited this pottery making studio and shop on a rainy afternoon because I noticed that many Indonesians were posting photos on Instagram. I was unfortunately not able to book a class, but the pots come in various sizes and are aesthetically arranged in the small passageway of the shop. You pay rp 10K to take photos, and the man working there is really nice and friendly. Overall, it’s definitely a lovely place to come to if you’re looking for home decor.
Clara Lim☆ 5/5
Absolutely love Serayu Pottery – it’s now a must-visit every time I’m in the area. I always leave with at least one beautiful pot, and on this visit I also picked up some gorgeous handmade mugs that are now daily favourites at home. The craftsmanship is stunning. Each piece feels unique, thoughtfully made, and full of character – from the earthy terracotta pots perfect for plants to the beautifully glazed mugs with lovely weight and texture in the hand. You can really see and feel the care that goes into every item. The space itself is inspiring to wander through, with shelves and displays overflowing with colour, shape and creativity. Staff are friendly and helpful without being pushy, and it’s just a genuinely enjoyable experience browsing here. Highly recommend for anyone looking for quality, locally made pottery or a special piece to take home. I’ll definitely keep coming back. 🌿🏺☕️

It was a worthwhile experience. There are two options: you can either come for sightseeing and pay only 10K rupiah or join the pottery class, but you need to book a day in advance. I just came for the sightseeing and took some pictures. The elderly man there was very friendly and helped me take a photo, he even made a nice video for me! 😂 The service was excellent, especially for a solo traveler like me.

did a pottery class at Serary Pottery in Ubud and it was so much fun 🫶 came in the morning so i had the whole place to myself, which made it even more special the staff were really helpful, and for 315k IDR (~$30) you get to make two pieces — i chose a cup and a plate and yes, you can actually bring them home. still can’t believe i made these with my own hand

My partner and I took a throw-and-spin class for the first time at the marvelous Mrs. Potter Ceramic and Pottery Studio in mid-May. The staff are beyond friendly and we had an amazing time. Our instructor was so patient and very helpful. He showed us the process first and then we did it ourselves. He was kind and gave us great advice to create some beautiful pieces. We had a great time with the team and the joyful kitty cat—it was so much fun! We chose to fire and glaze our humble work and had it shipped home. The colors are splendid and we are so happy with the result. It took about a month between the class and receiving the package at home. It was so carefully packed and protected that everything arrived in one piece (see pictures). I would have loved to take some more classes, but it was our last day in Pererenan. I’ll make sure to come back next time I am visiting. Terima kasih banyak Mrs. Potter team! 🙏

Absolutely love this canvas bag painting class! This was my first try . It was very fun and all the tools were prepared by the studio, all I needed to do was just showed up and enjoy drawing, such fun time! And this has been my favorite bag. The environment is super nice and cozy. Instructors were very helpful too. Great choice to spend sometime to make pottery or draw some canvas bag while in Bali 😍

Such a lovely experience at this pottery studio, located at the heart of Pererenan Bali 🤍 The atmosphere is cozy, and very welcoming—even for beginners. Me and kids were having an air dry clay class. The staff was patient and helpful, guiding us step by step without making it feel intimidating. I really enjoyed the hands-on process, and it was surprisingly therapeutic to just slow down and create something with your own hands. Kids also enjoyed the process quite well. All the tools and materials were well-prepared, and the space itself is beautifully set up. Definitely a great place to come with friends , kids or even for some «me time.» Can’t wait to come back and try more classes!

Had such a lovely time at my pottery session! From the start, the reception staff were incredibly responsive and quick with their replies via WhatsApp. When I was there, everyone I interacted with had such a warm and lovely demeanor. I didn’t manage to get their names, but thank you for making the whole experience so pleasant and easy. 🙇🏻♀️ I joined the Spin & Throw class and had Bayu as my instructor. He is honestly the sweetest! He was so encouraging and patient, especially when I completely messed up my piece haha. He was always ready to help without making me feel bad about it. I also learned that he studied Fine Arts, and you can really tell he genuinely enjoys what he does. 😇 I also did the Ceramic Painting and ended up going way over time because I couldn’t decide what to paint and got a little too invested in the process. Thankfully, the team was so kind and let me have extra time to finish my piece, which I really appreciated! They also sold really cool journals, including titles like Self Reflection, Self Discovery, and Goal Planner. It felt so apt to find them in such a therapeutic space. They’re so good for the soul, and I absolutely loved that thoughtful touch. ✨ I’ve arranged to have my pieces shipped to me since firing and glazing take about 2–4 weeks, and now I’m excitedly waiting to see the final results~! Highly recommend giving pottery a try if you’ve ever been curious about it. It’s surprisingly therapeutic, so much fun, and the wonderful people here made the experience even better. 🤭

Book this experience! I did the combined experience and it was so much fun, you can make anything you want mugs / bowls / small plates. I don’t know where the few hours went. I had Adi & Dia showing me the ropes and the ladies were lovely. The surroundings are also wonderful and peaceful. I would highly encourage people to get lost In the activity rather than «do it for the gram» it’s incredibly relaxing and just take a few pics of your finished items 😉

We had such a wonderful experience at Setungku Ceramics Studio! The studio is set in a peaceful Ubud environment surrounded by rice fields, which makes the whole workshop feel extra special and relaxing. The instructors are patient, friendly, and guide you step by step, whether it’s your first time on the wheel or you’re trying hand-building. The class is very hands-on and fun – messy in the best way possible! We loved that we could choose from different workshops (wheel throwing, hand building, painting on ceramics, or even the full experience), and at the end you get to keep your own creations as a beautiful keepsake. The whole process, from shaping to glazing, was well explained, and they even take care of firing and finishing your pieces so they’re ready to pick up later. It’s such a meaningful activity to do as a couple, with family, or even solo if you want a creative break in Ubud. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for something unique, creative, and memorable in Bali. We’ll definitely come back again!

Such a lovely experience. The staff here are super sweet. They looked after my baby girl while I had some self care creative time. Highly recommend doing the full workshop.
Nikki M☆ 5/5
I attended a pottery workshop here and would say it’s a good place for people who simply want to try ceramics for the first time, either hand-building or working on a pottery wheel. The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming, and the instructors were kind and pleasant. However, the workshop felt quite basic. There was a very limited selection of materials, and almost no paint or glaze options to choose from. Because there were many participants, we didn’t receive much individual guidance or detailed instructions during the process. Unfortunately, after drying and firing, all of our pieces developed cracks. Since this happened to every participant, it seems likely that the issue was related to the drying or firing process rather than the work itself. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience for a one-time introduction to pottery, but those looking for more professional instruction, a wider range of materials, or higher-quality results may find it somewhat disappointing.

we had a wonderful time here! it was our first time experiencing wheel throwing and it is surprisingly fun and relaxing ✨ the studio is very comfy, its surroundings with green views 🌾 and the people are very friendly which makes us feel at home there. after 3 weeks, our ceramics were shipped to our home in good conditions 🤩 thank you for having us!
Almandhira Dwiwrhaspati☆ 5/5
Really nice staff they are very accommodating. We paid 900k for the full experience and spent around four hours here! We were able to make some small pieces to take home with us. Please note that what you are paying for is the experience and if you would like to take home your works you can ask for this and add additional for the early firing — it usually takes 8 days. Then they can send it via go jek to your hotel and one needs to pack this to take home. The location is in a quiet back road easily accessible from ubud central. They have working lavs and a sink to wash off the clay. You can exchange your works (i.e leave these behind and take other free ceramic pieces from other students 🙂 The experience was sweet because the staff are super nice and the clay was also lovely didn’t smell bad and it fires or dries up like an off white colour. One to experience if you are in Bali. If you have your own paint and brushes you can bring these too if you are particular.

An unforgettable experience! This is something for everyone—whether you’re a solo traveler, a couple, or a family. I tried the batik workshop, and although I had never done anything like it before, with Master Made’s guidance, I was able to create my own piece. Everyone was so friendly, welcoming, and chatty. During the workshop, they even offered us delicious Balinese coffee and traditional snacks, which made the experience even more special. They truly went the extra mile and even gave us a ride home afterward. I highly recommend this experience. Don’t miss out on this wonderful opportunity to learn something new, enjoy Balinese culture, and spend time with such lovely people!

This has to be the nicest thing we have done in Bali. Our woodcarvings turned out beautiful with the help of our skilled guide. We would have been seriously lost on our own 😉 All the people were nice and we had a good laugh. We would definitely come here again and reccomend the workshop to anyone.

Highly recommend. I learnt how to do Batik Painting. Friendly and patient instruction where everything was explained and all questions answered. Owner operated. Others with children were learning how to make jewelery and beautiful fruit carvings. Free bottled water was offered. Clean and tranquil spot. No rubbish in sight.

Such a peaceful experience. We did the batik class with Wayan which was so fun and relaxing! Our friend did the jewelry making class and loved it. We got picked up and dropped off at our villa. The wood carvings are so beautiful too we got two masks for a good price. Highly recommend!!! Fun for all ages. Plus you get tea or coffee and snacks.

Absolutely AMAZING! We felt so invited and welcomed by everyone here. We ended up making rings, doing a wood carving class, and batik painting. We’re so glad we did all their classes. Because we did so many they also included lunch at a local restaurant nearby; very good food!!. The place is a collab amongst local artists like silver smithing, batik painting and wood carvers. They each were so excited to teach us their specific craft, all while we discussed their culture. Our absolute favorite part was being able to openly talk to them about Balinese culture and getting to know the locals and their ways a little better. Throughout the classes they also constantly gave us coffee and little local homemade desserts. Can’t recommend enough, and it’s a great way to walk away with something to physically remember the experience by. Must do!!
Carlos Lopes☆ 5/5
Absolutely amazing experience, we did silver making class in the morning and made a ring and earrings, then wood crafting in the afternoon after a beautiful lunch and drinks. The staff are very skilled and patient. Highly recommend using Bali purma art for classes they are so welcoming and friendly. The little rice talk over lunch felt like a hidden gem. Thank you, we had a lovely time.
Lisa Potter☆ 5/5
Absolutely superb family-run business! They accommodated our entire family of 9, picked us up, helped us create 11 very different rings including incorporating some sentimental gems we bought with us, polish our existing jewellery, and even fixed our old broken jewellery for a small fee. They offered us tea and traditional cakes, then took us to a coffee plantation and on for lunch before taking us home. We loved their reccomendations so much that we then paid for them to take us to a traditional performance in the evening. To cap it all off they crafted a bespoke pair of earings for our mother, who cried when we presented them to her later the next day. I cannot reccomend them enough, great value and we felt very well looked after in their safe hands.

We are a family of 5, boys aged 8,11 &13. We had an hour on the wheel and an hour hand technique choosing as a family to craft a bowl and cup each. The team were exceptional with the kids (and adults) patient with first timers. Options to send back to NZ also which was a benefit for us on our final days in Bali. English was exceptional, the boys loved the humour and want to have their own wheel at home. Could not recommend this experience enough.

We had a truly enjoyable time at Clay Play Bali last Friday. It was our first time trying wheel throwing and we had a lot of fun shaping the ball of clay into desired shapes. We were taught by instructors Ara and Eli – both were incredibly kind, patient, and encouraging throughout the whole process. Class was therapeutic, fun, calming, and even a little bit of a core workout. Despite the flaws in the finishing pieces, we were still really proud of our progress and were motivated to attend more wheel throwing sessions when we return! The studio itself was a lovely quaint spot that doubles as a surprisingly cooling respite from the hot Bali weather. Clay Play Bali is definitely a must-visit to all who are visiting Sanur!

I took the Wheel Throwing Class where I made cups and plates. It was fun! this is a class for beginner where we learned all the basic on pottery. So the class starts with an introduction to wedging the clay. They let us practice the wedge technique but the will wedge the 2kgs of clay we were going to use. A quick tour of the gallery was also fun, knowing all the good ceramics they made and those the previous students made, very inspiring. Then we were introduced to the machine, basic posture and technique from controlling the pedal, centering, making cylinder, compressing etc. The teacher, Riyani was such a good teacher. She explain everything very clear, let us try all the steps with her before we were assigned to our own workspace. The class is a very hands on. There are only 3 students for this class (max of 3 per class). Each of us were given 4 lumps of clay each 500gr so we could make up to 4 items. I did! woohoo! on the first try Riyani helped us (hands on$ and after that she let us do it ourselves and only supervise and advise. we were given chance to take home 2 of our creation (for free). The result will be sent back to us in 3-4 weeks. Cant wait to see mine. The studio was cozy, the people were nice. Riyani was funny and warm. Definitely an excellent first experience of pottery class for me. Will be back again for more classes.
