Pemulan Bali Farm Cooking School, Ubud

We had an amazing morning at Pemulan cooking school in Ubud and couldn’t recommend it more. The experience was hands-on from start to finish. We began with a visit to the local market, where we learned about the fresh produce, herbs, and spices used in Balinese cooking. From there, we headed to the farm to hand-pick the vegetables we’d be using in our dishes, which made the whole experience feel even more authentic. Our instructor, Nari, was fantastic. She was knowledgeable, engaging, and had a wicked sense of humour that kept everyone laughing throughout the class. She made the cooking easy to follow while sharing plenty of interesting insights into Balinese culture and cuisine. The food was absolutely delicious, and there was so much of it that no one left hungry! If you’re looking for an authentic, fun, and memorable experience in Ubud, this cooking class is a must. Highly recommended!

Our experience started with a tour of a local market before heading to their farm, where we handpicked fresh produce and learned about the ingredients used in Balinese cuisine. A special thank you to Nyoman, who was amazing throughout the day. He was incredibly informative about Balinese culture and had a great sense of humour that made the experience even more enjoyable. What a wonderful day we had! It started with a farm tour where we picked out ingredients then we made 6 dishes over a few hours. It was really fun and I would highly recommend it! We got to keep a little recipe book so we can make it when we get home! It was really great. Katy

This was a fantastic experience. From the market tour to the farm tour to the actual cooking experience. Junita was the best!! Very knowledgeable and really gave us a great time. We cooked 7 dishes and did almost everything by ourselves under her very expert guidance. Would definitely recommend for anyone who actually wants to learn the skill. This is a must do!

The sweet & sour tempeh starter blew my mind—even as a non-vegetarian, I liked the veggie dishes better! We cooked so much food that we ended up sharing everything anyway.
