Serayu Pottery

I visited this pottery making studio and shop on a rainy afternoon because I noticed that many Indonesians were posting photos on Instagram. I was unfortunately not able to book a class, but the pots come in various sizes and are aesthetically arranged in the small passageway of the shop. You pay rp 10K to take photos, and the man working there is really nice and friendly. Overall, it's definitely a lovely place to come to if you're looking for home decor.

Absolutely love Serayu Pottery – it’s now a must-visit every time I’m in the area. I always leave with at least one beautiful pot, and on this visit I also picked up some gorgeous handmade mugs that are now daily favourites at home. The craftsmanship is stunning. Each piece feels unique, thoughtfully made, and full of character – from the earthy terracotta pots perfect for plants to the beautifully glazed mugs with lovely weight and texture in the hand. You can really see and feel the care that goes into every item. The space itself is inspiring to wander through, with shelves and displays overflowing with colour, shape and creativity. Staff are friendly and helpful without being pushy, and it’s just a genuinely enjoyable experience browsing here. Highly recommend for anyone looking for quality, locally made pottery or a special piece to take home. I’ll definitely keep coming back. 🌿🏺☕️

It was a worthwhile experience. There are two options: you can either come for sightseeing and pay only 10K rupiah or join the pottery class, but you need to book a day in advance. I just came for the sightseeing and took some pictures. The elderly man there was very friendly and helped me take a photo, he even made a nice video for me! 😂 The service was excellent, especially for a solo traveler like me.

did a pottery class at Serary Pottery in Ubud and it was so much fun 🫶 came in the morning so i had the whole place to myself, which made it even more special the staff were really helpful, and for 315k IDR (~$30) you get to make two pieces — i chose a cup and a plate and yes, you can actually bring them home. still can’t believe i made these with my own hand
